Updating

Hey, I'm currently running an older version of the driggdist. that uses drupal 5.5. I've read and talked with Bohimt on irc about upgrading to the lastest version of drigg, and am curious as to whether drupal needs to be updated first, and if so, how? Thanks in advance,

Silvano

Was able to update

Finally got around to reading some tutorials on how to update drupal, and after painstakingly backing up everything automatically via my cpanel and manually via ftp and phpmyadmin, dove in and managed to update to drupal 5.7 and the newest drigg, userkarma and extra voting forms. Only hiccups I had where with the common.inc edit to remove 'scoop' instances. Just wanted to say that help is no longer needed.

One other minor hiccup I

One other minor hiccup I just realized, and was able to fix. Voting ceased to work, and didnt throw an error. The drupal 5.7 files, had an older version of jquery, so I renamed the jquerypack file you provide, placed it in the misc, and all is well.

Well done!

Hi,

Congratulations!

(Still on holiday, quickly checking the forums)

Thanks Merc! Also just

Thanks Merc! Also just noticed that that quirky sticky mouse on the resizable windows problem is fixed in the newest version. Yay! That and the search box/css issue were the only bugs I've ever noticed/eperienced first hand, so seeing them fixed is great.

Enjoy your vacation, I'll try and stay more active on the forums to help with what I can, and keep up the excellent work with drigg. I'm starting to get more comfortable/familiar with html now, and intend on moving on to php to help you out eventually.

Thanks :-D

Hi,

I am just popping in to check things. Thank you so much for your help silvano :-D
I am on holiday... AND guess what, I have this huge throat infection :-/

I am getting over it now.

Bye,

Merc.

Any help would be greatly

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to screw my site up in the process of updating. Would I use the files from the latest drigg distribution, overwriting the older ones then running update.php ? Or is there a simpler way.
