Express installation : thanks for your help !

I tried the express install but I did not manage to get successfully through : thanks for telling me if I got something wrong in the installation procedure :
1. downloaded the drigg drupal package
2. edited the settings.php with my mysql settings
3. for enabling "Clean URLs", I did not find anywhere to edit that in settings.php or .htaccess, so I did nothing there
4. I uploaded the contents of drigg_distr_sql.mysql file into my database
5. I loaded drigg's homepage fine (so I guess the connection to the sql database went fine). I logged in with admin / adminhere, but I got sent to drigg_home?destination=drigg_home with an error 404 page. I tried install.php but I get the logical message that my Drupal is already installed.

Thanks for any help !

Drupal installation issue

Hi,

You _need_ clean urls for Drigg to work.
There are about 3424234 documents online which describe how to get Drupal working with Clean URLs... please have a look and things will work.

If you are not very strong with Drupal, I _warmly_ advise you use the express install...

Merc.

Express install indeed : clean URLs by default or not related ?

Thanks - with a clean installation of Drupal, the clean url option is indeed easy to select.

I have used the express install, but am unsure if I have to change anything in the downloaded files except settings.php for getting drigg to work - I see the rewrite engine on in the settings file for instance. Isn't the express install files already set on clean urls by default - otherwise I have not figured out how to enable them as I cannot get access to the administration module ?

I have already installed fully-functioning drupal websites otherwise, so I am quite OK with the installation process, but I might have missed something with the drigg express install.

Thanks again.

Strange...

Hi,

Please send us your site's URL. Otherwise, it's just guess-work!

Website URL

Sure, here it is : link
Try logging in with the login defaults, and I get a 404 page.

Thanks a lot if you can help - Drigg appears to be excellent, and I would hate to have to switch to other solutions because I am unable to get it to work, but again I might have misread something.

Thx !

Wrong rewrite

Hi,

It really looks like your rewrite is not really happening, since Drupal is not even handling those "File not found" pages.
You will need to look into it. This is NOT a drigg problem, but a problem with the way APache is configured with Drupal.

Can anybody else here help?

Merc.
