Question about drigg

Hello. I found drigg because i did a google search on "user moderated forums".

My company is putting a forum on their website to discuss different designs. We make mannequins for retail stores (www.bigsmile.ca) and we have some pretty sweet head designs as it stands, but we want to open up the new head creation to designers from anywhere, and we need a forum for these designers to discuss/critique each others prelimnary concept sketches before they are submitted to us for the grand contest where they will be voted on by our customer base.

We'll bring the best voted ones to market yaddah yaddah just like threadless.com does with tshirts but slightly different cause were b2b not a b2c business.

Anyway, if there are flame-reviews of designers work, we want other designers to be able to 'mark as offensive' or 'mark as flame' or 'mark as spam' type of tags. And, if they his say...10 "marks" as offensive, the post gets deleted and the user is sent a warning saying "watch out" or we'll ban you from the community.

Would drigg work for our application? Would it work as a 'discussion forum' between our designers, that can be moderated (just the offensive/spam portion of it).

I am not a programmer, far from it. I have no idea what drupal is. If somebody on this forum would be able to contract their services to us for a fee, we'd hire you to create our forum (if drigg will work for our application).

Again, it caught my eye because it has the 'user moderated" portion.
The link that came up in google is here (which led me to this site...):

Thanks for the thought/insights guys. Keep up the good work. I think you'll have no problem getting some donations if your product is useful. If we can use it, we'll donate.

Best Regards,

....

I might have answered my own question by looking at these forum posts...i don't see a way to mark anything as offensive or as spam.

If drigg won't work, do you guys know something that would?

Look into drupal

Drigg is an extension, an add-on, to drupal. With all the contributed modules available, drupal can do almost anything. It is possible to mark things as offensive and delete posts, however, you would need to use the right drupal module in conjunction with drigg.

It is kind of like having all the legos you will ever need. You just need to know what you want to build and grab the right pieces.

This isn't as hard as it sounds and there are tons of very very knowledgeable people in the forums on drupal.com that would be happy to help. I recommend learning about drupal/spending sometime on drupal.org (especially the forums; and don't be afraid to talk to users and ask questions) before you move forward.

Simple answer: It can be done and wouldn't be that difficult but you must know drupal to do it.

Hope that helps.
