Help install drigg-distr

Hello, can someone please help me with express installation of "drigg-distr" file. As I understand it's a Unix file, which requires command line access to the server. I have successfully installed Drupal on the server but don't know how to load "drigg-distr". I don't have shell access to it and even if I did, I probably would not know how to use it. Is there an easy way to load this Drigg stuff without compliced procedures? I've tried loading Drigg the "manual way", but it's not working. Every time I activate the Module, it gives out errors. Other than that Drupal seems to work fine. And yes, I have enambled "Clean Url's". Thanks.

Basic help...

Hi,

Sorry, I think I am going to find it a little hard to help you this way.
I will give it a shot. However, I think installing Drigg requires a little more experience than you have (although I am not sure, and I certainly don't mean to offend you).

Basically, you need to treat drigg-distr.tgz the same way you treat a WHOLE drupal TGZ file. Drigg-distr IS a WHOLE Drupal installation. So, you need to:

1) Uncompress it
2) Configure your web server so that the directory you uncompressed it into is configured as a web address
3) Load the default database file

Or, you could try the manual way... but please tell us which errors you got.

Bye,

Merc.

How to load the database?

i am not getting
I use cpanel
But how can i load that sql db
any help out there?

Generic computing help...

Hello,

I am afraid you will need to ask other forums or other people for generic database help. I have never seen cPanel in my life.

Sorry... I don't mean to be nasty, but it's impossible for me to help you.

Bye,

Merc.

where do you ost your websites?

never seen?
where do you guys host website files?

Command line on my own server

Hi,

Command line on my own server.

Merc.

thats great

Anyway i contacted my support team they replied as

--------------------------------------------------------------
Hello AxxO,

To restore the database with phpmymadin:

- Choose phpmyadmin in cpanel
- Choose the database
- Choose import in the top tabs
- Choose the browse button to locate the backup on your PC
- Click "GO" to import the database

Please note that you can not import very large backups with phpmyadmin. If you have issues, give us:

- The location of the backup file
- The database name, user-id and password

And we will import it for you.

Please let me know if this resolves your problem.

Thank you,

Frank

Drigg ROCKS!

You should be...

Hi,

You should be able to load Drigg's database following their instructions.
A lot of hosts don't allow the command line, since you sort of need to know what you're doing. The connection speed doesn't matter...
If you're serious about computers, I would suggest you read a good book about Linux. Sobell's books are fantastic.
