Twitter and Drigg
Posted July 10th, 2008 by daveLA
I thought I would discuss this here before submitting a feature request.
I think it would be nice to have a module which would send a twitter message whenever stories are promoted to the front page. There is a Twitter module for Drupal already here: http://drupal.org/project/twitter
I think it only works for blog posts though.
Would people use this? How hard would it be to edit the current twitter module code to be more abstracted so that it can send a Twitter message for different events?
An easier way...
The easiest way to implement this is to simply use the already generated RSS feed and have www.twitterfeed.com automatically post feed updates from your Drigg site to your Twitter account.
You can see the results at our Twitter page.

Worked great, thanks for the link. I think there is no need for adding this functionality to Drupal/Drigg as long as this site is around.
Thanks again,
Dave

I have no idea...
Hi,
I have simply no idea. I imagine this could be an extra module in drigg, that deals with the twitter stuff. But I've never seen the twitter module nor used twitter before.
This will need to be patched-based...
