Tony, what's Drigg's front page algorithm?

Believe it or not, I can't find this information anywhere.

What's the algorithm that determines front page placement on a Drigg site?

A friend asked me why I wouldn't just use views instead of Drigg, and I mentioned that Drigg had an algorithm that would tough to cook into Views.

He asked me what this was....and I admitted I hadn't a clue.

The more I've thought about it, the more I think the front page just shows the latest stories that have hit whatever the front page threshhold is, right? So if you set it to 5 votes, when an upcoming story hits 5 votes, it'll appear at the top of the front page. Then, when another story hits 5 votes, that'll appear above it, pushing down the previous story. No matter how many votes a story gets after its been promoted to the front, it'll stay in the same order as it was before....right?

Am I getting that correctly?

So drigg's value is in the

So drigg's value is in the filters and extra features like autovoting?

This page...

Hi,

This page has a better explanation on why it's _impossible_ to create something like Drigg using views etc.
