Fastest Installation in the West

This post is not a question but a positive comment for this wonderful product. The first attempts for installing this module failed - using Drupal and adding the modules. Different jquery versions, different modules, etc were all attempted. There were moments when the dev site appeared to work okay but eventually I gave up. Even the first downloads from here failed for voting, missing images, etc.
Yet - as of today - I was able to register a domain name at 8am, create the site on the server, download the files, change the php settings, upload the files to the server, change the admin/drigger passwords, change the header, add categories and tags, and add a few stories - and POOF - a working site in less than 1 hour.
Yes, there are many areas on the site needing work but the site is functional and built in under an hour (from domain name purchase to adding members). Now the above scenario makes Drigg awesome.
PS. No, I was not able to get the word "scoop" changed (common.inc / phpsettings were changed). I wish there was a configuration option under admin. Maybe this should be a feature request :)
Anyway - if anyone is curious about this software - I highly recommend you give it a try.

The "complex" installation is only really suitable for people who know Drupal... anybody else is _bound_ to get lost :-/
Anyhow, drigg-distr.tgz works well, and it really is the best way to install Drigg.
About changing the word "scoop", have a look here:

Drupal 6 will make this patch useless... Till then, that's the trick :-D

Yes - I tried that patch but scoop was not changed. Oh well. There are more important changes needed on the site to make it unique. But the base wouldn't have been possible without Drigg.

to change the last occurence of scoop who wouldn't want to be translated with commonc/settings ?
The one who didn't want to be translated in my case is only the one when you go to create content/scoop and I believe that's where /admin/content/types/scoop could help
