First bounty: more video formats for Drigg

Hi,

THIS BOUNTY IS NOW CLOSED

This is a first attempt to find a way to fund Drigg's development.

---------------------------------------------
BOUNTY:
Accept more video formats in Drigg

FEATURE REQUEST:
http://drupal.org/node/207552

DESCRIPTION:
Drigg right now only accepts Youtube videos. Plugging in more video formats, however, is quite straightforward (although time consuming in terms of testing).
As somebody pointed out in the feature request, the emfield module already has a wealth of information about identifying URLs

NOTES:

Drigg is virtually bug-free

Hi,

If you go the the list of bugs in Drigg, you will notice that there are _no_ open bugs:

http://drupal.org/project/issues/drigg?categories=bug

This is something I am particularly proud of. I do have tons of feature requests:

Open Feature requests in Drigg

However, none of them are _really_ urgent.

Drigg asks the Drigg community for help -- please read this!

Hello People,

As you know, I have been working tirelessly on Drigg. I released Issue 1 thinking that I would have a break after that... little did I know, that Drigg had countless little glitches which caused you people a lot of stress and a lot of work.
Some of them were pretty much impossible to predict. Some of them were plain silly.

Now... I need help. If you go here:

Drigg: what now?

Hi,

This is just a quick update on Drigg.

Please help populate http://www.drigg.org!

Drigg is released

Hello,

Well, it's there.
Drigg has been released.

Seriously.

We changed things quite drastically over the last week. We changed things because... well, we wanted to make sure nothing "fundamental" needed to change later.

Please test it, and let me know if you have any problems!

For now, I am _specifically_ interested to know if the instructions here actually work: http://www.drigg-code.org/pages/download_and_install

Drigg programmers take new year's eve off - Plus, call for browser-incompatibilities list for Drigg.org

Hi,

Apologies, everybody...
"Life" has taken priority this one time!

You probably noticed http://www.drigg.org coming along _very_ nicely. We decided to take it easy, and to delay the Drigg release till the 2nd or the 3rd of January, when we are back from a short end-of-project holiday.

In the meantime, please report any browser issues you can see in http://www.drigg.org (which has the default theme) to merc [AT] mobily1.com, WITH a screenshot! The reported problems will be fixed before Version 1 is out...

Bye!

Merc.

Drigg Distribution coming out on the 30th of December

Hello,

I just wanted to let you know that Drigg 1.0 will be out on the 30th of December.
This means two things:

1) The file drigg_distr.tgz will be finally finished and working properly; the installation instructions on the site will be updated as well
2) The Drupal modules will be released formally

Drigg will come with a nice theme, easy to customise.

Bye!

Merc.

Drigg 1.0 rolled out...

Hi,

We rolled out Drigg 1.0. FSDaily us now using Drigg/VoringAPI, and... it works!

We need to change the documentation on this very site now, and create a new drigg_distr.tgz package that uses the current state-of-the-art Drigg.

We fixed several minor-but-annoying problems. We think the module is good to go.

Thanks to Applicom Australia for creating this exciting project!

Merc.

Version 1 of Drigg, slightly delayed, coming up

Hi,

Version 1 of Drigg is just about to come out.
It took me a little longer than expected because I decided to change QUITE DRASTICALLY Drigg's underlying structure, so that it used the VotingAPI.

This meant making the simple_karma module obsolete, and actually dividing simple_karma into 3 different modules (the voting forms, the user karma and the comment promoting modules).

So... for now, please hang on a minute :-D I can't wait to release Drigg 1.0, but I have to - these changes will help the drupal community enormously, and will give you even more power.

Bye,

Merc.

Current status

Hello everybody,

Here is a brief update on Drigg.
The software itself is finished - for now. There are some features I would love to have, but it looks like there are no outstanding bugs right now.

The one thing Drigg _really_ needs now is a good skin. This is why www.drigg.org right now is an old photograph of fsdaily.com right now, and looks very wrong: it's being fixed and improved by Alan, who will make it look good in the next 3/4 days. Stay tuned!
