Drigg is done

Hi,

Well, see subject.

I don't know whether it was good for my back, but it was definitely good for the community: Drigg is finished, and it's working flawlessly for http://www.fsdaily.com

Today, I had to fix some nasty bugs with the auto-voting; I had great trouble because my maths skills are as good as an 11 year old's. But I managed nevertheless.

Finishing line: crossed

Hi,

I don't have much left in me.
I jut wanted to let everybody know that well, I crossed the finishing line. Drigg RC1 is finished.
I optimised queries, made sure it degrades t non-js, added a lot of Ajax magic (well, Jake McGraw and Anthony Taylor did, but it was a joint effort).
Apart from the fact that I am suffering form a not-so-enviable lack of sleep, I feel happy.

Now, it's the right time to download drigg (the "all in one") and give it a good test.

Note to beta testers...

Hi,

Quick note to beta testers: I changed the DB structure lightly over the last week or so. I added caching for the karma ranking for users in simple_karma, and added trackback information.in drigg_node.
Till I say so, please don't use Drigg in production servers. The "pre-configured" package for now is changing every day, and there is no easy procudure to "update" the database. THis will change with version 1.x (coming up next week), since I will freeze the "prepackaged" version to specific versions of simple_karma and drigg.

Watch out!

The finishing line's moved - but I'm catching up...

Hi,

Well, it's happened. As I thought I was just about done, a few problems arouse. Jake couldn't make it - luckily, Antony Taylor came to rescue me.
ANd then... well, then I had completely forgotten about two features that were considered vital for the project: trackbacks and a Javascript sidebar.

Drigg: the finishing line!

Hi,

I am just about finished with Drigg. Tomorrow, I am meeting Jake McGraw (to finish off the Javascript) and Alan to finish the template. After that... well, that's really it: the system will be available, and the world can flood me with bug reports :-D
This is the part I enjoy the least: it's the finishing line; I have to write some scripts to make CVS a little more bearable, write out detailed installation instructions...
